In August of 2005, Marsh’s, the Huntington menswear store
that has outfitted Long Islanders for 80 years, agreed to merge with Mitchells/Richards,
the Owner of two highly successful luxury clothing stores in Westport and Greenwich
Connecticut.
In an effort to remodel Marsh’s outdated storefront
on Main Street, TRITEC Building Company, Inc. was hired as the Construction
Manager. TRITEC constructed both Mitchell’s of Westport and Richard’s
of Greenwich for the Mitchell family. Taking advantage of TRITEC’s new
Project Prep Service lead by Martin A. DePasquale, the Mitchell family asked
that TRITEC facilitate the design and construction process. TRITEC assembled
the Design Team, which included an introduction of Huntington based architects
Hoffman-Grayson to the Mitchell Family, along with the project engineers, who
provided plans to completely remodel the 15,000 square foot space.
After 4 months of an intense preconstruction and coordination
effort, construction began January 1, 2006. Construction Executive John Lennon,
who responsible for the construction projects in Westport and Greenwich, will
be overseeing the project for TRITEC and is excited to work with the Mitchell
family once again. The store will remain open during the renovations which are
scheduled to be completed September 1, 2006.
